Question Low volume


running Unbutu 7.10 and on board sound AC97 audio w/alsa drivers. the sound works but the volume is very low. Have installed the Alsa mixer but no help there.Looked at the alsa site but didn't find anything relevant.How do I turn the volume up?

type alsamixer in to the console and turn all the volume levels up to about 80. the volume control in the gui usally only controls the master levels. Try doing that and let me know how it goes.

Thanks for that. It got me 1/2 way there and Gnome AlsaMixer took me all the way home!
