Lost use of keyboard
 
I was playing a game and used some "shift" + another key combination for movement controls. A message flashed quickly and since then I cant type anything. I didn't see what the message said. I rebooted the machine in hopes that it would heal itself. Keyboard works fine right during login for password but after boot is finished, I have nothing. Lenovo T-61, kubuntu 8.04. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I suggest the following:
Try to start from a live cd.
If the keyboard is normal then there is something wrong in the settings of your OS.
Maybe something like a wrong language!?
If the keyboard does not function running live, it is a setting in your portable and you should consult the docs of the portable.
