Linux Mint 7 - Remote Desktop options?
I have Linux Mint 7 (Gnome) installed on my desktop and my aunt's laptop. Since Linux Mint is based off Ubuntu, I figured I'd post here since Ubuntu solutions would also work for me.
I would like to install some kind of remote desktop software on both computers so that I could remote in to her laptop and help her with issues. (She lives about 2 hours away) I need a remote desktop solution that has a GUI. A Windoze equivalent would be logmein.com, but this isn't available for Linux. I just need something that will work outside of the local network. Thanks! |
http://nomachine.org would be a good bet, but you'll need to do some port forwarding or something to hit the machine itself on SSH.

Hi,
what about VNC? Otherwise you could search in the repos for "vnc" or "remote desktop", and see what other software is in the repo. If I do this, I also get "krdc - Remote Desktop Connection for KDE", among others... Regards, bytepool |
vnc is eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil. nx.
