Kubuntu Playing Through Both Speakers

My Kubuntu plays through my onboard pc speaker and my speakers. Please help. I have a Intel 82801BA.

Is your PC speaker enabled through alsa? I believe in KDE (I use GNOME) that the volume control is Kmix, which is essentially a front-end for alsaconf. If you open this, is the PC speaker enabled, and what is the level of sound associated with it?
