Kubuntu - Nvidia - power management - fan

Warning, please be easy I am a total noob.

I have a laptop: Asus Z71v Nvidia GO6600 2Ghz intel

Is it possible to make it so that my video card fan will not work so hard? The CPU fan is working fine as there is power management, but there is no power management for video card.

Is it posssible to make it work in dynamic mode? The FAN is working so load, as if I am plying Half Life 2

Please help

Nah, I just gave up. I got lost on all those guides on installing the drivers, specially the official drvivers.

I guess I am just used to point and click in windows. Works great for me.

So for now, I just gave up on Linux all together. I'll wait maybe half a year or so, when it will be more noob user friendly.

Later i'll see if I go Vista or Linux

shame, all you have to do is the run the installer. that's all i did last time. and it handles everything. then just reboot.......

sudo telinit 3

sudo chmod 755 <file>

sudo ./<filename
