Kubuntu creates empty folders in my home dir
After some time with suse, I decided to try Kubuntu 8.04. After a week of installation, I noticed that some folders were added to my home dir that I did not create such as: addons, lang, manifests, runtime, uninstalled, user profiles. All these dirs are empty. Is that a normal thing for ubuntu distros? In suse, no such thing happens. Thanks.

Which is your home directory?
/home/ /home/user/ /home/user/Desktop/ /home/user/.kde/ Whichever it'd be, i've none of those directories... Where did you get Kubuntu from? What did you do to spend a entire week for installing it? (it's almost automatic for me) |
Those appear to be java folders. Did you install java or a java dependent app?

Thanks for responding.
the folders are in my home dir: /home/user. About the installation, I meant that after the installation was done, a week has passed by, meaning I have been using kubuntu for a week. I went to the ubuntu website and used the option to download the torrent rather than from the site since torrents are faster. The only thing I installed myself was wine, flash, xine, mlayer, and compiz-fusion. I upgraded the system 2 times from the package manager for security and upgrades. I am sure java was installed automatically when I installed the system. |
