Hi,
I am new to ubuntu/kbuntu and presently have kbuntu installed..The install went ok and the system is up and running but I did notice that kbuntu did not ask or request input for my monitor..Thus the horizontal and vertical frequencies are very low..My only display refresh rate is 60 hz @ 1024x768...
Other distros like Mandriva/suse use configuration programs to set the parameters..To complicate matters I see xorg which I know nothing about..
Can someone give a pointer as how to configure my monitor(hopefully by GUI rather than command line) but if command line is how to do it then ok..

Hi again,
When I tried B4 to modify my monitor settings in /etc/X11/xorg.conf using vi
the Xserver would not start..I tried it again with different settings and X did start ang gave me choices to my screen resolution and refresh rate..I generally run 1024x768 at 70 hz..
Everything seems normal now..
