kubuntu 6.06: xmms-flac not yet available?

I am trying to get xmms-flac installed. There seems to be an ubuntu package (xmms-flac_1.1.0-11_i386.deb) for this, but apparently not for kubuntu.
Nevertheless I need it, because the major part of my music collection consists of flac-files.
I hate amarok so that's no option.
Any advice is welcome!

I see no reason why the xmms-flac package shouldn't work in kubuntu, have you got the libflac runtime files?
