Kubuntu 6.06 How-To
I put together a How-to for installing Kubuntu. It's all screen shot driven and quite a few folks have had pretty good success with it. Here is the link. http://www.linuxloader.com/modules.p...howpage&pid=28
I changed the format some and now everything is contained in a linked document. Let me know what you think. PDR60 |
I think it looks good.

5 GB for the system partition (excluding /home) ain't enough ... I'm using 9 GB now (without /home), just a few months after a fresh install (admittedly, I install everything) ...
On Linux, I read, it's possible to resize partitions (with data) though. |

Besides you can't install "everything" from the Kubuntu desktop CD. The installer installs a base system which is actually pretty small. Also this How-to is geared to the beginner. and besides, why would you want to install "everything"?? I hope you don't mean all the available servers and all. That's just not wise in a desktop install..... PDR60 |

I'm pretty sure there are more users like myself who want to check everything out ... :) Hey, it's fun, and you do learn by that! :) |

Well, that's a stringent argument chain, indeed. I hope I'll get your hints before I'm 70 y.o. ;)

I have Kubuntu, Xubuntu, and Ubuntu installed on one partition along with my /home (but not my documents--those are on a separate partition) and all the programs I installed and use, and this is how much space I've used:
