Kubuntu 10.10 on Pendrive

Hey guys,

I've finally got Kubuntu 10.10 installed on a pendrive with a persistence file and it's working great. I need to use this where I can't install Linux, such as on work's computers etc.

As it stands, the boot process eventually displays a dialog asking whether to try Kubuntu or install it. As I am always selecting try, I would like to bypass this screen and have it always select the try option.

Does anyone know of a way to do this?

edit /syslinux/syslinux.cfg and /syslinux/prompt.cfg
set "prompt 1" to 0, set timeout to 0
then it should boot instantly

Ok, cool, sounds promising, many thanks.

Now the newb question - do I need to re-run syslinux to update the settings, or are they automatically picked up once the cfgs are amended? (PS, I ask because I implemented your amendments without re-running syslinux but saw no change other than the counter on the initial boot screen had disappeared - sorry for appearing dumb!)
