Kicker/leave shortcuts fail in Kubuntu 10.04

Dear fellow Kubuntuers,

I periodically have a problem with the Kicker "leave" shortcuts. The problem is that the confirmation dialogues for "logout", "reboot" and "shutdown" never appear, resulting in the action never initialising. The shortcuts for "switch user" and "lock" work fine - presumably because there is no confirmation dialogue.

Shutting down and rebooting manually from the command line work fine and I seem to be the only user that this affects (hinting at a config issue in ~/.kde?).

Kubuntu 10.04 is my first *ubuntu distro and I've never had a problem with this KDE feature in other distros.

I'd appreciate any help,

cheers, Neil

Did you check global shortcuts to ensure they're enabled?

The shortcuts may be different from other distros you've used.

Thanks for the response.

I thought global shortcuts referred to KDE keyboard shortcuts. I don't have a keyboard shortcut to shutdown/reboot; I'm not interested in that, I'm concerned with the "leave" sub-menu of the kicker menu. The other users are able to use these fine. If global shortcuts refer to something I'm unaware of I'll need a few more hints ;)

thanks, Neil
