I have an acer travelmate 4400 with the turion 64 cpu and when booting from either the ubuntu install or live cd the keyboard doesnt work. it works on the boot promt but once it goes into the gui where it says to choose a language it goes dead. is there a special boot parameter i need to use to make the keyb work once it goes into the gui?
Access your BIOS, and you should find an entry for "Legacy USB Support" make sure it is disabled.
This does not disable USB by any means. It's an older technology of some kind that causes problems sometimes. I have mine disabled and am still able to use flash drives, USB mice, etc..
