Kernel update on hoary


can I update my kernel (2.6.10.5) with/using synaptic to kernel 2.6.11.1 ?

what packages do I need?

is it safe?

Why would you want to do that?. You won't get any more speed, stability or security by doing that. The only reason to update a kernel is to add support to a piece of hardware that you don't have supported by default and/or current kernel. Other then that, only for learning purposes, but then again, if you want to learn, you might want to download the source and compile/install it by yourself, not through apt-get

Just a thought...
