Question kernel is updated and I remain without driver wireless

After installing Ubuntu Edgy and automatically updating encounter that I remain without wireless. I believe that the problem is because it updates kernel to me and therefore the modules remain in the old folder. How can be solved this of systematic way?

My first step has been to install driver again, but I think that the update would have to be transparent for the configuration of the equipment.

I guess your first step is correct. However I do not agree your second point.

Happy Penguins!
