Just upgraded from Jaunty to Karmic a couple of days ago using alternate iso. I think it went well. All drivers seem to be working and can browse internet as well.
Now, I have screen saver enabled and it displays random images from the Pictures folder and it is also password protected as well. But when I keep it untouched for a long time the system just hangs and fails to respond to anything. The only is to power it off by switching the power buttons off. The settings in the power management option does not put the system to sleep. Only monitor is put on sleep after 10 mins of inactivity.
Jaunty has had no such issues.
The system is Dell Optiplex 330n with Intel graphics integrated. No external or add on graphics.
9.10 Karmic is incredibly buggy distribution (by saying this I don't mean to offend its developers but this is true at least in the most part) so you either would want to closely follow 9.10 fixing process by watching this forum or ubuntuforums.org for example hoping for a quick fix to you problem, or wait for next scheduled 9.10.1 patchset.
I do not find it too buggy though there are some. But this is something I aint able to fix. Neither can I find the reason for it. Will still keep looking and keep watch on ubuntu forums.
