Unhappy Internet connections in ubuntu


Hi
i hav just installed ubuntu on my pc. my motherboard is intel 865, cpu intel p4 3.00 GHz. we hav LAN connection in our hostel. I couldn't configure network connection in ubuntu. My net is working on my windows Xp properly, but in ubuntu it s not working. I tried configurin it with network-admin but nothin seems to work.
Plz help me as my project needs to be completed as early as possible.

what is your ethernet card? you see a network card at network setting gui?

Are you Wireless? (trying to connect through a router?)

If this is the case, try going to System>Adminstration>Networking, highlite your 'Wireless Connection', click on 'Properties', and enter your network name, key type, and key.

click OK and try it.

hi
its not wireless.. its a realtek LAN card

you see ur network card at System>Adminstration>Networking? realtek should be detect.
