installing skype error
 
I was trying to installed skype and i am getting a error that reads:
Error: Wrong architecture 'i386'


has any one installed skype before?

Are you installing it manually, are you on a particular distribution?

If you are running the 32bit version of Ubuntu, you need to install the 32bit version of skype. If it's the 64bit version you should install the 64bit version of skype.

Since you're getting a wrong architecture error message, I would guess you are trying to install the wrong version of skype.

As far as I know, there is no 64 bit skype. You need to install the 32 bit version no matter what. On the skype website, a 64-bit ubuntu version is listed, but my guess is it's a 32bit binary with the necessary 32 bit libraries.
