Installing on External Harddrive without GRUB on Internal

I want to install Feisty on an external hard drive, but I do not want GRUB to be installed on the internal hard drive. I just want it to boot up into XP unless I use Dell's boot menu to select to boot my external. Thanks!

Options:

Put GRUB on a floppy
Put GRUB on the mbr of the external drive (using the Dell boot menu to boot from that drive as you stated)

You can also use the Windows loader---search Google or here at LQ for "dual-boot with NTLDR"
