Installing Broadcom bcm43xx Injection Patch into the kernel

http://tinyshell.be/aircrackng/forum...14044#msg14044

In that topic, atros posted a patch that I wish to use.

I have Ubuntu 7.10 DVD version installed on my laptop, and the patch is for the kernel that is default in that version of Ubuntu as far as I know.

From what I read, I found that one needs to recompile the kernel. So I checked a guide on the matter and I found this...

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Kernel/Compile

But under reasons not to compile one, I read this...

"You merely need to compile a special driver. For this, you only need to install the linux-headers packages."

I'm not completely sure what this means. Can anyone tell me what I should do with the .patch file so that I may enable packet injection on my laptop?
