Installing a Windows program in Ubuntu using Wine
I installed Wine no problem. Then I downloaded a Windows Chess program(ECTool) to the desktop. I right clicked on the ECTool icon and checked run with Wine. The program came up just fine and I could make moves on the chessboard, but no information was saved. I got a blank screen under games in progress.
Anyone use this program or have any ideas what to do next? ECTool is listed as a program that works with Wine. drc |

Thanks. I'll give the newer version of Wine a try. I'm not familiar with running in console, but I'll look it up. ECTool can sometimes do strange things even when running in Windows.

Problem solved! I tried reinstalling ECTool. That took care of the problem.
I have one other problem. My programs running on Wine show very reduced size on the screen. Is there a way to increase the font size and the size of the chess board in Wine? Looks like about a number 5 font and my eyes are way too old for it. :) drc |
