This is a XP SP2 notebook, Evo N1000V with 256MB RAM, 10GB hard disk with two partition, C with 2GB (600MB empty), E with 8GB (5GB empty. When insert bootable Ubuntu Linux 6.x CD, when come to preparing restricted drivers.... [4294810.124000] Buffer I/O error on device hdc, logical block 11705 [4294811.057000] VFS: brelse; trying to free free buffer .......repeating.... [4294811.064000] SQUASHFS error: sb.bread failed reading block 0x4f09 [4294811.064000] SQUASHFS error: Unable to read page, block 13bcab0, size 5993 stop here.... (hang) if type Ctrl-A sign appears Please advise how to proceed installation. CD problem...RAM problem...buffer problem...or not enough disk space. Thank you. Mike Leong |
Are you installing or just booting the cd? Could be that the cd or iso file is bad or your ram or cd-rom drive is not functioning well. When you boot the cd you can do a integrity check of the cd. Also in the menu is "memtest", takes a couple of hours (I'd do this over night).
