Problem updating ubuntu using update manager
Solution that worked why? No idea!
1. Tried to uninstall free talk using: dpkg -P freetalk Result : freetalk not installed! 2- Tried this on update manager dpkg -P --force-remove update-manager This command did produce messages but still errors apeared at the end of dialog and basically said update manager is an integral part of ubuntu. Also tried this alternative, same result dpkg -P --force-remove-reinstreq update manager ---------------- I then tried to run update manger and it not only worked for 56 updates it also requested the ubuntu 9.02 CD and the system is now fully upgraded. |
