I can't login with my user and password
 

Hi, I'm new.
I've installed Ubuntu with Windows, from here. I downloaded and executed "wubi", and it asked me for an user and password (I thought I was creating my user account), but I can only login as a guest because it doesn't recognize my "user" as an user. And it asked me for the root password (for example, while trying to connect my WIFI) and I don't know it.
So, I don't know if I did something wrong, or I just have to create an user by other way...and what about the root password?

By default, Ubuntu disables the root login and pushes users towards using sudo to do commands.

I think the easiest fix is to delete Wubi in Add/Remove Programs (or whatever Windows is calling it this month) and reinstall it.

I did it, 2 or 3 times. Is the user and password that I had to type while installing supposed to be my user? It doesn't recognize it as an user, even after I uninstalled and reinstalled it. I guess I'll uninstall, delete, and download it again.

Remember, unlike Windows, your username is case-sensitive under Linux. The user created by the installer is your user account.

When you try to setup your Wifi, use this password when it ask for it.

Yes, the user name and password you give during the install is the same one that you would use to login.
Do not use upper case letters for your user name. There was a bug in the Ubuntu installer where it would not accept user names that started with upper case letters. I do not know if they fixed this bug or not; but avoid upper case letters for your user name just to rule this out as the problem.

You should consider doing a real install of Ubuntu to a dedicated partition on your hard drive.

Well...it seems the first wubi I'd downloaded had a bug, or something, I've downloaded again and re-installed it and it worked, it recognized my password! I guess I do have to install Ubuntu thereby, but I needed something easy and quick because I'm doing some basic programs studying for an exam in a few days. I'll definitely do it when I'm available to.

Any image supplied by Ubuntu comes with an md5sum. After you download this should be checked as it will help prevent using a faulty image.

To reset Windows password is easy. Try the following steps, you will login Windows with 5 minutes. But you should prepare a blank CD/DVD/USB.
Step1, Get an accessible computer, download the Windows password reset software from
http://www.passwordreset.biz/, install and run.
Step2, Burn the software onto the CD/DVD/USB
Step3, Insert the burned CD/DVD/USB into the computer that you have lost login passwords. And then following the step by step wizard to finish password recovery!
