howto put subtitles in the black stipes using acidrip?
hi all,
i'm using acidrip, it's great, but i don't know how to put the subtitles in the black stripes, and where or how do we crop the film so we have those stripes no to big but with space for the subs?
i want to put the subs directly in the movie.
i am trying now with dvd::rip but i rather prefer acidrip!!! :-)
these sorts of things are difficult to deal with and largely come down to taste. if you wish to encode the subtitles into black bars then you have to encode the bars themselves and loss quality or disk space as a result. if you want to explicitly add bars on, then you should add and expand filter to the post filters box. check the mencoder manpage for details of expand in the -vf filters. your other alternative is to save the subs to a seperate file, they can then be added on playback with black bars to your suiting at the time.
the size is not a problem, i want to save 2 or 3 movies per DVD5 with subs already in the movie so i can watch it without the aid of a computer.
i already tried to use something like -vf expand=0:-100:0:0 -slang pt, but it doesn't work quite right, the subs were almost right but they didn't get erased, they keep appearing above one another.
Excuse my english and allso my Linuxknowlewde are not perfect.
Hope you can help me in a easy way.
Since I got the new Version Ubuntu 10.04 lucid lynx as an update from you, I cant read my Subtitles on the Desktop and other Software, because ists all black.
May you find a Solution to change it.
Thank you.
Hartmut
