How to update Ubuntu 7.10 on pen drive?

With the help of the excellent instructions on www.pendrivelinux.com I just installed Ubuntu 7.10 on a USB pen drive. Works great! I observed that I am in fact running the Live CD version from the pen drive.

I have also installed 7.10 on my PC hard drive. When I did so I noticed that there were a lot of program & security updates which needed to be installed. Which leads to my question...

How (should) I update the version of Ubuntu on the pen drive? Or is it not something to worry about as the live CD is inherently out of date as soon as it is released?

TIA,

Ken

A live CD is essentially outdated the day after it is released, it isn't something that you really keep up-to-date; since it isn't designed as a full time OS. You run it as a demonstration, maybe in an emergency when your main OS is down, but it isn't designed for everyday use (for a number of reasons).

So unless you intend to be using this full time, there is nothing to be too concerned with.
