How to set up printing to Windows box?

Hi all! First, I want to say that I am only familiar with Mandriva Linux and Mandriva has a special "wizard" that sets up CUPS to print to a printer attached to a Windows computer with no problem. My problem is that at my work, some guy is using Ubuntu and he wants to print to a Windows 2000 computer. I've never used Ubuntu and I'm assuming it's not going to have an easy "wizard" like Mandriva. Can someone give me a quick 1-2-3's of how to print to a printer attached to a Windows box in Ubuntu?

Thank you!

The first thing is to setup Samba, and then get CUPS talking to that. After that I'm kinda lost if its Gnome.

If its KDE then Install Samba the KDE Printer wizard can do the rest.

I thought Samba was only required for file/network sharing. Am I wrong? Does Ubuntu have a graphical SAMBA like Mandriva? I don't know if the graphical SAMBA is Mandriva specific or if there is such a thing for Ubuntu.

He is using Gnome.

Well, I got the printer working in Ubuntu WITHOUT having to go through Windows. All I had to do was to add a printer in GNOME and select the LDS Unix printing option. I then pointed it to the printer's IP address and BAM it works. We are using a HP LaserJet 4100N. Hope this helps future Ubuntu users.

That would work if the printer is a network printer ( attached to the network directly ) If its attached to a computer then you need to talk to the computer, to get to the printer. If its a windows machine sharing the printer, then you'll need samba.
