How to modify Cinnamon Menu

Two questions:

1. I'm trying to create a simplified menu for non-techy users. Is there a way to hide the "All Applications" entry on the Cinnamon menu?

2. Using the Menu Editor applet, I've tried creating a new menu entry under Accessories", but the menu does not show up. The first selection of the new menu does show up. Are menus not allowed on the right-column entries?

Also, I've noticed that when I copy a menu entry (using the Menu Editor applet) and paste under another sub-menu, it does do the copy, but it also makes a second copy in the original location. If I 'cut' instead it does not make a second copy, but neither does it remove the original entry. Are these behaviors simply bugs?

I don't think so. I think "All Applications" is hard-coded into the menu app. You would have to have programming skills to change it. I could be wrong, but I believe that is how it is.

I have tried that with no success. I have also tried editing /home/yourusername/.config/menus/cinnamon-applications.menu with no success.

One of the many bugs in the menu editing program (alacarte). After you cut and paste, you have to deactive the original.

I gave up on organizing the menu a long time ago. alacarte just plain sucks. It is going to create the menu pretty much the way it wants to, and there isn't a lot you can do to modify it.

Hmmm, is there a place to post Ubuntu bugs like bugzilla?
