Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Post # 98, @djeldum : Welcome to LQ.
Do not do any ns2 commands as root.
Probably delete ns-allinone-2.33/ and start from scratch.
And then please do all commands as unprivileged user.
And if you do a 'make install' in ns-allinone-2.33/ns-2.33/ : Use sudo.
"No such file or directory" : The first command is always 'pwd'.
$ pwd <Enter> : Will reply with your location.
If ns-allinone-2.33/ is in say Desktop/, you will have to do :
$ cd Desktop/ns-allinone-2.33/tk8.4.18/
About LTE install, Ubuntu : Please also use commands in post #4 :
0) cd project/
1) ln -s ../lte-model-read-only/*.h ./
2) ln -s ../lte-model-read-only/dlqueue.cc
and it works , i think, but now i have error random.cc does not return type:
tools/random.cc:50: error: ‘RANDOM_RETURN_TYPE’ does not name a type
and function in random.cc looks like:
printf("The C library random() has been called in ns.\nThis library function is not portable (it produces different streams\non different computers), please use ns's Random::uniform() instead.\n");
what to do know? i can't find anything :S
