how to insatll my tv card


I have a tv card pinnacle pctv plus version 5.10... I have a driver cd of this card but it contains the files for xp not for the linux...
Please can anyone help me to get out of that problem...

I told you in your last thread this is gonna probably be an exercise in frustration. The Pinnacle series just doesn't work very well. Driver CD's RARELY contain Linux drivers, so it should make a good coaster.

I spent weeks googling and posting and trying different things I found to get my Pinnacle card working, and it never happened.

Utilize the search feature on this subject, it turns up a ton of threads, but like I said, I bought a new card before finally giving up.

I have not used a Pinnacle TV card, however this page on the V4L wiki looks like certain Pinnacle cards can be used.

See the output of "dmesg" and "lspci" to see if your card is being detected. This should tell you the type pf chip that is used, and (hopefully) you can get drivers for it.

It appears that most of the Pinnacle cards use the SAA713x chip, which should be supported. See this page to see if your card is listed.
