How to create a desltop launcher and how to add a "show desktop" icon in 12.04 LTS?
1) how do I create a shortcut to run an app, that normally starts when I type in bash "/opt/appdir/app" ?
2) how do I place an icon in ubuntu 12.04 LTS to show desktop?
I haven't got exactly what you've asked, but for no 2... I installed myunity, an app that gives you more customisation options for unity. In there is an option to add the Desktop as an icon in unity task bar.
