Hi, I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 and I can't manage to change the Usplash theme. I tried installing the "start up manager", but when I set a different theme the boot splash screen isn't shown at all and I can see is a lot of text information from the system boot. When I set the standard theme again it comes back to normal behavior.
So, all I want is to set different Usplash themes. Can't it be done on Ubuntu 8.10? Do I have to install some other program to show the boot splash screen? I've heard many people had the same problem, why?
