How to automate the use of "gdebi-gtk" package, double-clicking on deb's?

It's some time that when I doubleclick on a deb file, instead of making the package "gdebi-gtk" running, automatically my Ubuntu 8.10 starts the package "file-roller"...starting a "file-roller %U" command.

Obviously I need the automatic start of the package "gdebi-gtk", that make me easily install every apps,

Anyone could help me in configuring this automatic match, i'm not able to...?

many thanks

Right click a .deb file and select Properties and then the "Open With" tab. You should see "Archive Manager" and Gdebi Package Installer" as option with Gdebi selected as the default. A deb is a special case of an Archive. It seems very strange that you won't get Gdebi every time. Since you don't want or for that matter need to use the Archiver on a deb file try removing the Achive option.
