How do you unblock a web page in Ubuntu 10.04?
I inadvertently blocked a web page and get the following message when I try to open it using Firefox.
"The page isn't redirecting properly Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. * This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies." I can change users and access the web page or change computers. No other websites were affected. Is there a way in Ubuntu or Gnome to unblock a website to accept cookies? |
Here is a tutorial on how to enable-disable-delete-manage cookies

Sounds like a Firefox configuration issue, not Ubuntu or Gnome. Check your security settings in FireFox. There are options to except/reject cookies.

Thanks for the replys. I am using Firefox 3.6.8 and it doesn't have the Options in the Tools menu. That is missing on both PC's. Looks like I need to post this problem with Mozilla.

In Linux, Firefox "Options" is "Preferences" in the Edit menu.

Problem Resolved
Thanks jasohl for the reply, I should have mentioned Options isn't in the preferences either.
However, after many hours of searching and reading the solution to my problem was rather simple. In the Preference/Privacy menu you have to change the Firefox will: to "Use custom settings for history" and there is "Accept cookies from sites" Exceptions box. In it was my problem web site. Problem resolved. |
