HDD led always turns on in UBUNTU 9.10???


HI there ~

I have been using LINUX with UBUNTU
But at this time I don't understand Why HDD led aleay turn on ?????

it's the same situation in HOME linux UBUNTU 9.10

system : 1TB with SEAGATE 7200rpm
Ubuntu 9.10

Qurrys:
I changed 2 kinds of things below
1. because of not supporting VGA, Radeon 200, So ubuntu 9.10 does not set VGA
I am currently using stand VGA
2. Power Managetment
set to hibernation after 2 hours.

After to know Why?
3. I disalbed LAN
4. I disabled SWAP

but All is the same
Why HDD led always on continousely ????
