Hardy stopped booting

Hello, I've used Hardy and it worked quite well, til today. There were several updates avauble (about 100M) so I downloaded them. While installing them, (I think was libc6-dev) returned an error, and the system stopped responding. So I rebooted... and now it doesn't boot anymore.
It stays several minutes on Initializing system log daemon, then suddenly goes on and get to what should be the login screen. But it's all black and there is the mouse icon in the middle, in the shape of a circle. And the boot ends there.

I also tried the recovery mode, but:
- with last option, reconfiguring the X server, nothing good comes out
- with second option, it crashes
- with the first, I actually get to the login, but when I insert them it returns some malloc and free errors, and it asks for login again.

What should I do? I was so happy with Ubuntu, I though Windozz was sh*t compared to it, but this really let me down .

libc update killed Hardy. See the bug and fix at launchpad.

Gotta love Alphas!

I am not running Hardy as I learned my lesson about Alphas back with Feisty

Glad it worked though!

Gutsy is working so well for me that I will probably wait awhile. Who knows though, I may update once Hardy hits RC status.
