Gutsy won't install on HP dv9627cl

My Acer was running Gutsy like a champ but it died and I bought an HP dv9627cl and put the install disk in and rebooted. After I told it to install I got a message saying that Ubuntu was running in low-graphics mode. I told it to continue and then I get the error message:~$

This message continues to repeat with only the bracketed numbers changing.

Any ideas on getting it to install.

hi i dont know if this is a idea but it worked for my on my compaq i installed the i386 version but i found it didnt contain the rt73 wireless networking driver
