Gutsy: firefox problem(s)

With the previous release of Kubuntu I always used the latest version of Firefox. With Gutsy the Firefox release is I have downloaded and want to do the same as I did in Feisty: link the executable to my desktop. But now I get this error message:

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

(firefox-bin:6706): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:

It seems to me that I have an X-server problem with Firefox.
Who knows???

I see that kind of error when people try to open a X app as a user who did not log in to KDE (ie. They su as root and try to open kate).

How did you download and install If you simply cd into the directory that firefox resides in and run the firefox binary does it work?

By the way, I don't think Linux users need (or because the latest security updates are related to Windows vulnerabilities.
