Gutenprint: Changing Gutenprint UI and recompiling

Hi All,

I'm currently working with Gutenprint 5.2.6 on Ubuntu 12.04. I want to modify Gutenprint plugins UI code for GIMP, compile it, and install it. Does anyone of you have any experience on this stuff?

I tried to change some small things like the labels (it uses GTK), but after recompilation (I think the UI is compiled together with the driver), my installation gets me back to the old UI which is not modified. So my modification is not reflected on the UI. Any idea? Thank you.

Kind regards,
