I got here a big thread between me and Simon how to make the dial modem work under Ubuntu
Unfortunately I couldn’t dial even after edit the wvdial conf
Any way I decide to remove Ubuntu , I removed using magic partition (no other distro in the machine)
I boot the xp but the screen shows GRUB error
I had to install again ubuntu (after reading one thread here) and again put the xp cd to boot but also failed, now there is no GRUB error but also cant boot the xp
I really need to check my private emails from home every evening and need to XP for many reasons because of business issues

you can either boot from the install cd, enter rescue mode and run fixmbr or fixboot
or you can find out which partition xp is installed - i believe that after playing about with partition magic your partition table got rewritten and that xp is not on the partition grup is trying to load it from.
