Grainy and pixelized video picture

Hello everyone!

I have problem with video picture on Ubuntu. When I play video with VLC or Totem media player and when I increase picture size, it becomes grainy and pixelized. The more I increase picture size, pixels are bigger.

Problem is that video output module (in VLC) must be X11 video output because i use Beryl. When I didn't use Beryl, I could set output module to OpenGL and picture would be fine, but OpenGL doesn't work with Beryl, I don't see picture at all (except when I am moving window, sometimes I see few frames)...

And with X11 video output picture is grainy and pixelized...

So, does anyone know solution of this problem?

I am using Beryl with no such problem with totem-xine running on defaults.
Could it be you are using gstreamer?

Does this happen for a range of formats? For a DVD?

I haven't used another media player in a while.
