Getting my jump drive to work

I am having a problem getting Ubuntu to recognize my jump drive. Well it recognizes it but doesn't like it.

I read somewhere how to do this, or something similar but I'm unable to find it. Can anyone push me to the direction? I hear Linux doesn't initially like flash drives as it is.

When you say "doesn't like it", is there a specific error message you're getting? I just went through "Jump Drive Hell" the past couple weeks, so hopefully it's nothing more than adding a line to your /etc/fstab file...

wow nevermind... I was going to do it again to try to replicate it but it works now. *shrugs* This time I put it in prior to Linux loading so I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Eh I'll see next time.

Thanks though

I wonder if you are able to save to this drive now that you say it is working.

When I run Kubuntu, I can see the jump drive and even bring up files on it, but I am un-ble to save to it. It is formatted as fat32.

Is there something I have to do to use it so that I can take files between my xp desk top machine and my linux laptop?

Does changing the /etc/fstab help in being able to save to this drive?
