What program is it that crashes? I've seen this too (more usually on a Windows machine
heh), usually there's just something wrong -- maybe your upgrade broke something -- that causes a program to try and start every time you boot/log in and fail every time. Solution could be to clear it's settings (if it's a configuration problem), stop it from starting automatically and seeing if starting it manually helped, ... Basically just finding out what crashes it and removing the obstacle.
So if you can, try to find out what program it is that crashes.
