getting a black screen when I try to run beryl-manager
 
Hi,
I am using Ubuntu 7.04. Installed beryl and emerald themes on my system. When I try to run the command - beryl-manager, I get a black screen on which only the cursor is visible, which changes to a hand shape over any invisible hyperlinks. My system is an Acer Aspire 5100 laptop which has a ATI Radeon X'press 1100 card.
I have installed fglrx drivers.
any idea what may be the problem.

its probably the video driver, may not support open-GL or 3d effects, I have an older Nvidia GForce MX200 and I get the same but with a white screen on my desktop

It was working till a couple of days back, until I upgraded beryl to the latest version.Now I have downgraded back to the previous version, even then it is not working.
