games go SLOW, is direct 3d being used or only openGL, how do i know?

i recently subscribed to "cedega" the windows game installer for linux, and all games i run go very slow and choppy, which according to my hardware shouldn't happen, amd X2 4800+, Nvidia 7800gtx, looking through my nvidia properties all i see is openGL settings, i have a feeling direct3d is not around, how can i tell?

direct3d is ms-only crap. it doesn't exist for linux. cedega is ment to be a replacement useing opengl. do you have opengl set up yet? did you install the nvidia driver from nvidia's web site?
