Question Frostwire on Edgy

Hi Guys

Frostwire is not starting up in Edgy Eft. The error i get
Code:
shrikant@shribuntu:~$ frostwire
runFrost.sh: 44: Syntax error: "(" unexpected (expecting "}")
I got java and everything installed properly and i have pointed Sun java to be used systemwide using
Code:
update-alternatives --config java
One more strange thing is about 'azureus'. It doesn't work with this java and i have to switch back and forth everytime doing the above thing. It's java is 'gij-wrapper-4.1' which installed with the same. Azureus works fine in fedora with Sun java.

Anybody got these issues?
Help
Thanks

I managed to get frostwire to work by following the instructions here.

I don't use Azureus so I don't have any help for that.

Sorry I forgot it wasn't real obvious where the fix was in that post. It's step four which is to change the default shell from dash to bash with sudo dpkg-reconfigure dash and then answer no.

It doesn't do anything to frostwire, it does it to your shell. I'm not sure about the technical aspect, but different shells sometimes interpret commands slightly differently. Apparently the code for frostwire is compatible with bash which is the most commonly used, but not dash, which ubuntu switched to with the new version. The command tells ubuntu to issue commands as if you typed them into a bash shell instead of dash.

The problem solves easily:
gedit /usr/bin/froskwire
the line with:
sh runFrost.sh
change to:
bash runFrosk.sh

It's something like that.
