Fresh Install of Ubuntu 10.04 with a RAID array

I want to do a Fresh Install of 10.04, my question is this.

I have a 1TB RAID 1 Array, that is not running the system, and I want to know how to get it up and running after the install, I've searched everywhere and it seems nothing shows what to do when you're doing a fresh install.

Is it hardware or software RAID?

If it is created with mdadm, Ubuntu should already find it at install-time, just give it a mountpoint, and be sure to not format it, if you want to keep the data on it.
