To be absolutely sure the CD is good, (yes, even though you used it to install Ubuntu previously) when you boot the live CD be sure to run the option "

At what point do you see this error? Did you install Ubuntu and then try to boot it, and then you saw this error? Or does this happen when trying to run the live CD? Please tel us exactly what you did and at what point you saw this error.
EDIT: For this error you are getting, check the BIOS options for your hard drive if you can. Try changing SATA to IDE if that option is available. See post #6 in this thread:
