eclipse open large file problem ?.

Hi guys,
I am using Ubuntu 8.10 and Eclipse Ganymede 3.4.1

When I open a large C file (> 16000 lines), the eclipse can not display hight light (in text file) and outline in outline column.

I do not chose "Enable all scalability mode options" in eclipse preferences.

Anyone give me a hint to solve this problem ?.
Thanks a lot.
