DVD Burning problems...

Got a wierd one that is driving me nutty.

Recently toolk the plunge and converted my main machine to Ubuntu and for the last 2 months it's been cake. Love it.

Problem: Copied DVD's do not play on DVD player since moving to Ubuntu.

When I was on XP, I was using DVD Decryptor/ DVD Shrink / Nero to rip and make my DVD's. Worked like a champ. Out of 300 DVD's in the last two years I have only had 6 failures (all of them PEBKAC errors - Problem exists between keyboard and chair).

I get the DVD converted with K9copy and when I get cone I make this into an ISO to burn with Gnomebaker or K3B. It seems to go without a problem and plays fine on any PC but not on the old stand alone DVD player.

I have tried using Wine to run DVD Decryptor/DVD shrink and then back this up to an iso, Copy the iso to my wife's PC (windows XP using nero) and burn it from there and this seems to work fine.

Is there some setting I am overlooking in Nero that I have not setup under K3b or gnome baker?

What happens if you rip using dvdshrink in Wine, then burn in Linux? This would narrow down if it's a ripping problem or a burning problem.

This is, of course, only for backups of your own legally owned disc: I use it to keep a copy of my DVDs in the den and in the bedroom.
