Dual boot Windows 8 and ubuntu on UEFI system

I'm trying to dual boot windows 8 and ubuntu but it is nearly impossible for me. I've installed first the lts 12.04.1 but grub 1.9 is not the better boot loader for a new uefi-secure booted-64 bit system. Then I've installed ubuntu 12.10 with grub2. This time linux actually run but the grub menu is not able to dual boot both the o.s., only ubuntu. I need many software only windows supports.
I've also used some ubuntu software to repair mbr. So I've restored the original system configuration. Obviously, I've lost linux.
In some forums and articles I've read Secure boot is the cause of my problem and If I want to use ubuntu I have to disable it.
My system is a Dell XPS 8500 and there is the option to disable the secure boot. Now I am new to uefi and I don't know what will happen if I disable the default configuration. My question is: if I disable secure boot, will I boot Windows 8 or not?
Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, a Windows 8 branded device must have secure boot enabled to boot into Windows 8. I don't know if this is true for your hardware though. Can you use Windows 7 for your Windows software? You should be able to dual boot with Windows 7 if you install that first! (you will lose Windows 8 though)

I haven't win7 now. I'll wait for the announced Precise 12.04 release, since articles reports it is completely compatible with UEFI systems. there is already an ubuntu 12.04.2. i've downloaded it and created a new live-usb. I thought this time Precise supported Grub2 or other bootloaders. But at i run the live in the menu header i notice Grub1.9....
I don't know if that means now grub 1.9 is ready for uefi regardless the former 12.10.1.
Do you heard something about that?

Grub 2 is now called Grub and the old Grub is called Grub legacy and is no longer developed.
Linux has had UEFI compatibility longer than Windows afaik. However, the secure boot option locks a machine to a specific vendor. It makes dual booting much more complicated, if not impossible. That's why most Linux users avoid Windows 8 completely.
